Article Retraction and Expression of Concern
The editorial board of the journal adheres to the principles of academic integrity and international standards of publication ethics and provides for a procedure for the withdrawal (retraction) of published articles in case of detection of significant violations or errors that affect the reliability of the research results. The withdrawal is carried out in accordance with international standards (COPE) and the journal's policy.
The editorial board conducts a detailed analysis of the received materials in accordance with the COPE guidelines and the requirements of the Procedure for considering reports of possible violations of academic integrity. The total term for considering the case should not exceed thirty working days from the moment the commission is formed. In exceptional cases, when the circumstances of the case require additional examination, this term may be extended, but not more than ten working days, of which all interested parties are notified in advance.
Publication withdrawal policy (Retraction)
1. Prerequisites for implementing the withdrawal procedure
An article is subject to retraction in case of detection of critical violations, namely:
Academic dishonesty: confirmed plagiarism, fabrication or manipulation of data, duplication of one's own previously published works without explanation.
Scientific irrelevance: detection of accidental or intentional errors in the methodology that refute the conclusions of the study.
Technological abuse: hidden use of AI to write text or generate scientific content (graphs, tables) without proper justification.
Ethical conflicts: serious violations of human rights, as well as concealment of a real conflict of interest.
The composition of the authors should clearly reflect the real intellectual contribution to the manuscript. According to the ICMJE criteria, only those individuals who participated in the study design, data analysis, and final approval of the text can be considered authors. Including outsiders or ignoring real developers qualifies as an editorial violation
2. Initiation and review
Appeal: Any interested person may initiate an investigation by submitting a reasoned application with evidence to the Editorial Board.
Preliminary analysis: The Editor-in-Chief assesses the validity of the claims within 5 working days.
Expert commission: A working group of three independent experts is created to make a decision.
Right to defense: The Editorial Board must contact the authors for clarification.
Deadlines: Full consideration of the case lasts up to 30 calendar days.
3. Possible consequences and decisions
Based on the results of the review, the commission makes one of the following decisions:
Refusal to retract (if the allegations are not confirmed).
Publication of a refutation/correction (Correction) (if the errors are not critical).
Full retraction (if it is impossible to correct the violation).
4. Registration and publication of a retraction
If the article is retracted:
Marking: A “Retracted” watermark is added to the digital copy of the article. The text remains accessible to maintain the transparency of the scientific process.
Publicity: The editorial office publishes a special notice of the retraction in the nearest issue and on the website, indicating: who initiated the process, the reasons for the retraction, and the commission’s conclusions.
Notification: Information about the retraction is transmitted to authors and international scientometric databases where the publication is indexed.
5. Appeal mechanism
Authors who disagree with the committee’s decision have the right to appeal it within 14 days by filing an appeal with the Editor-in-Chief. The re-examination is carried out with the participation of new experts who were not previously involved in the case.
The PDF file of the retracted article remains on the journal’s website, but has a clear watermark with the note “Retracted” on each page.
