Generative AI Policy

The politics of generative artificial intelligence

The editorial board of this scientific journal recognizes the possibility of using artificial intelligence tools and related technologies in the preparation of scientific publications solely as auxiliary means.
The use of such technologies must not replace the author’s intellectual contribution, scientific reasoning, interpretation of results, or formulation of conclusions. Responsibility for the content, accuracy, originality, and scientific correctness of the materials rests entirely with the author(s).
This policy is based on the principles of academic integrity, transparency in scientific communication, and compliance with international standards of publication ethics.

The Policy for Considering the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Article Manuscripts (hereinafter referred to as the Policy), taking into account the COPE guidelines and practices of well-known international publishers, focuses on maintaining a balance in the implementation of AI tools and adhering to the principles of academic integrity, transparency of editorial practices, and trust in published scientific research results, etc.

1. General Provisions
1.1. Artificial intelligence tools may be used only as aids in the preparation of the manuscript.
1.2. Artificial intelligence may not be listed as an author or co-author of a scientific article.
1.3. The author(s) bear full responsibility for:
    • the content of the submitted material;
    • the accuracy of the facts and data presented;
    • the correctness of citations;
    • the absence of plagiarism and other violations of academic integrity.
1.4. The use of AI does not relieve the author of responsibility for the research results and their interpretation.

2. Permissible Uses of AI
The use of AI is permitted in the following cases:
2.1. Linguistic and stylistic editing of text (correction of grammar and spelling, improvement of readability, translation).
2.2. Auxiliary structuring of material, preparation of draft formulations, and organization of text.
2.3. Processing, analysis, or visualization of data within the scope of the research, provided that such methods are described in the relevant section of the manuscript.
2.4. Use of AI as a research tool (e.g., for data analysis, modeling, classification) provided that there is adequate methodological justification.

3. Prohibited Uses of AI
The use of AI is prohibited for:
3.1. Generating scientific text without proper authorial processing, verification, and critical analysis.
3.2. Fabricating, falsifying, or distorting research results, data, conclusions, or sources.
3.3. Creating or manipulating images, figures, tables, or other materials, unless this is part of the research methodology and is properly described.
3.4. Concealing the use of AI in cases where it has influenced the content or results of the work.
3.5. Violation of the principles of academic integrity, including plagiarism, improper citation, or misrepresentation of authorship.

4. Requirements for Disclosure of AI Use
4.1. Authors are required to disclose the use of AI in cases where such technologies were used for:
    • text preparation;
    • data analysis;
    • creation or processing of materials included in the article;
    • conducting research procedures.
4.2. The disclosure must include:
    • the name of the tool used;
    • the purpose of its use;
    • a description of the scope of application;
    • confirmation that the author(s) have verified the results obtained.
4.3. If AI is used as a research tool, the relevant information must be provided in the “Materials and Methods” section with a sufficient level of detail.
4.4. If AI was used exclusively for language editing without affecting the scientific content, the editorial board may not require this fact to be explicitly stated in the text of the article.

5. Declaration on the Use of AI
If AI is used, the author(s) must submit a corresponding statement, for example:
During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used artificial intelligence tools for [specify the purpose]. All results obtained were verified, edited, and approved by the author(s). The author(s) bear full responsibility for the content of the submitted work.

6. Editorial Review and Responsibility
6.1. The editorial board reserves the right to request additional clarification regarding the use of AI.
6.2. In the event of violations of this policy, the editorial board may:
    • return the manuscript without review;
    • refuse publication;
    • request corrections or retract the article.

7. Confidentiality
7.1. Reviewers and editors are required to maintain the confidentiality of materials submitted for review.
7.2. It is prohibited to transfer manuscripts or parts thereof to third parties, including third-party AI services, if this could result in a breach of confidentiality or copyright.
